One plate lacks the outline lesson plate. Pages 9-16 contain handcoloured tint samples, representing the colour spectrum. 'A delightful book, typical of the age when drawing in water colours was fashionable' (Dunthorne 52). Brookshaw was the author and artist of the most famous English work on fruit 'Pomona Britannica' published in 1817.
