The present work is a selection of orchids most worthy of cultivation as published in Curtis' Botanical Magazine, with a revised and in many cases re-written text. However here published on large paper to avoid the necessity of folding. The beautiful plates are by W. Fitch, probably the most renowned botanical artist of the Victorian era. The first hundred plates "A Century of Orchidaceous Plants" were published by W.J. Hooker and are an independant work. A fine copy of this scarce work.
