Beautiful book on Japanese flower arrangement. The plates printed by a special process of wood-block printing on fine paper. Josiah Conder was a British architect. He was invited to Japan by the government to design Western-style builings in the capital. He arrived in 1852 and remained until his death. Conder's love of the country's culture inspired him to undertake the study of Japanese painting and flower arrangement. A fine copy.
