The complete section on mammals of Godman & Salvin's 'Biologia Centrali-Americana' published in 57 volumes. Edward Richard Alston (1845-1881) was a Scottish zoologist and the present work is his major publication. The excellent plates are by Keulemans, J. Smith and J.
