"Die einzige Iconographie der Cacteen - wenigstens bis zum Jahre ihres Abschlusses - die vollständig ist. Sehr selten." (Junk. Rara, p. 68). "Eine halb-kolorierte und eine ganz-kolorierte Ausgabe gibt es von dem immer noch geschätzten und zu einem Rarissimum gewordenen Werk von L. Pfeiffer und F. Otto 'Abbildung (!) blühender Cacteen' (2 Bände, 1843-44 mit 60 Quart-Tafeln)" (W. Junk. 50 Jahre Antiquar p. 172). This rare work (consisting of 12 parts with 5 plates each) was issued in 2 editions: partly coloured (flowers only) and fully coloured. The above copy has 3 plates fully, and the remaining plates partly coloured. As all copies, some moderate foxing due to the quality of the paper. Text both in German and French.
